Equipment Sales & Leasing Account Executive

THE EQUIPMENT SALES & LEASING ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE IS REPONSIBLE FOR:

  • Being willing and eager to thoroughly learn our products and services, to sell them most effectively.
  • Building rapport with each customer and prospect; learning their operational needs and wants, challenges, goals, priorities, buying motives, decision criteria, to offer the best possible solution for customer success.
  • Studying and understanding market conditions and the relative strengths and weaknesses of competitors’ products, services, policies, tendencies, pricing, etc.
  • Managing customer relationships to a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Setting up daily appointments for face-to-face meetings with existing customers to stimulate sales and tend to any open issues.
  • Researching new sales prospects and engaging/developing them to grow his/her book of business.
  • Organizing business plans to consistently meet and exceed monthly/quarterly sales goals.
  • Maximizing opportunities through upselling and meeting/exceeding target margins for new and existing business.
  • Promoting and marketing the sale of all product lines.
  • Obtaining referrals for himself/herself, as well as for other sales colleagues.
  • Identifying, establishing, and managing strategic relationships to leverage significant long-term business opportunities.
  • Obtaining accurate information required to prepare written quotations.
  • Working with business partners like suppliers and lenders, as well as internal resources like Service, Parts, Accounting and Management to facilitate deals.
  • Disciplined post-sale customer follow up to ensure we have met or exceeded customer expectation.
  • Proactively reporting the progress of open opportunities and activity to management through our CRM database and weekly Sales meetings.
  • Promoting and contributing to a working atmosphere across all divisions that results in maintaining strong cooperation, efficiency, and teamwork.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • A natural ambition and drive to continuously increase sales from both new and existing customers.
  • The discipline to use business processes to achieve desired results.
  • A valid driver’s license and driving record in good standing.
  • Willing to travel daily within his/her territory.

PREFERRED, BUT NOT REQUIRED:

  • A BA/BS degree with a concentration in sales, marketing, or business. Other disciplines are encouraged to apply.
  • Knowledge of the transportation equipment industry is a plus.

Position: Regional Sales Manager – Southeast
Job Location: Home office within Territory
Employment Type: Regular Full-time
Salary: Base plus Commission plus Profit Sharing
Required Education: Bachelors’ Degree
Required Experience: 3 to 5 years sales experience in heavy equipment
Required Travel: Up to 70% travel

Position Description:

General Summary: Generally expected to work as a valued member of the XL Specialized Trailers team. The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for establishing, growing, and maintaining a strong presence within the Southeast Region (SC, GA, FL, MS, AL, & TN). The RSM will be responsible for building strong customer relationships which foster sales and growth for the region.

Responsibilities, Qualifications or Skills Required:

  • Identifies business opportunities by identifying new dealer/national account prospects and evaluating their position in the industry, researching and analyzing sales options.
  • Sells products by establishing contact and developing relationships with prospects, recommending solutions.
  • Maintains relationships with clients by providing support, information, and guidance; researching and recommending new opportunities; recommending profit and service improvements.
  • Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, etc.
  • Recommends changes in products, service, and policy by evaluation results and competitive developments.
  • Keeps management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans and monthly and annual territory analyses.
  • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge and presence in the marketplace by attending education workshops; reviewing professional publications; attending trade shows; establishing personal networks.
  • Completes operational requirements by following company policies and procedures; reporting needed changes; following up on work results.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations. Wears proper personal protective equipment.
    Identifies and anticipates safety and health concerns and hazards by surveying environmental, operational, and occupational conditions.
    Contributes to team effort by accomplishing relating results as needed.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Licensing and Certification:

  • Hold and maintain a valid driver’s license.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors’ Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Three to five years sales experience in a manufacturing environment.

Physical Demands:

  • Extended periods of sitting.
  • Ability to routinely lift 20 lbs. and occasionally up to 50lbs.

Work Environment:

  • Work requires significant overnight travel.

Felling Trailers, Inc. is a nationally recognized top line industrial and commercial full-line trailer manufacturer that has been providing innovative trailer solutions to the transportation industry for over 45 years. We are searching for a driven Sales Professional who is interested in growing professionally and financially by representing our products to new and existing dealers/customers. Reporting to the Sales Manager, the region includes, but is not limited to: CA, NV, AZ, & NM.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Increases sales with our existing dealer base and develop new dealers in the assigned territory providing training and product support.
  • Maintains a thorough working knowledge of all Felling Trailer lines, their specifications, options and features.
  • Fields calls/e-mails from dealers and customers and responds to their questions in a timely manner.
  • Consults with Sales Manager, Sales Coordinator, and Engineering on the design and build of custom trailers.
  • Participates in trade shows as needed and provides input to management on the value of trade shows.
  • Three years trailer industry experience needed. The position is home office-based with extensive travel, 70% of the time, throughout the assigned region. Because of this, we prefer that the selected individual resides within the SW territory.
