Real average hourly earnings for all private nonfarm employees decreased 2.8% from October 2021 to October 2022. The decrease in real average hourly earnings combined with a 0.9% decrease in the average workweek resulted in a 3.7% decrease in real average weekly earnings over the year.
Real average hourly earnings for production and nonsupervisory employees decreased 2.3% from October 2021 to October 2022. The change in real average hourly earnings combined with a 0.6% decrease in the average workweek resulted in a 2.9% decrease in real average weekly earnings over the year.
