About The Breakers & the 29th Annual NTDA Convention

The 29th Annual NTDA Convention makes its much-anticipated return to The Breakers, Oct. 9-11, 2019, in Palm Beach, FL. NTDA is dedicated to gathering the best of the best in the semi-trailer industry including top dealer principals across North America and all of the leading trailer OEMs and suppliers. Careful attention is paid to creating an intimate atmosphere that blends world-class educational offerings as well as a memorable events and experiences that allow for candid networking and the open exchange of ideas, information and strategies. This year’s program brings together leading industry experts on smart trailer technology; blockchain and bitcoin; a high-caliber fleet CEO panel; a vital economic forecast for 2020; a can’t miss, half-day succession planning workshop; an in-depth look at selecting and developing talent that takes you to the top; the impact of driverless vehicles and related technology; facing dealership e-commerce challenges and opportunities; and much more! All NTDA Convention attendees staying at The Breakers receive the following added benefits:

  • Complimentary access to The Ocean Fitness Center (room key required for entrance).
  • Complimentary beach lounge chairs and umbrellas (show your room key at desk).
  • The group rate will be honored for three days prior to and after the Convention dates based on availability.
  • Overnight Valet Parking is offered at a reduced rate of $20 per night with in and out privileges.
  • A 10% discount is offered to Convention attendees staying at The Breakers for the Spa.
  • A 10% discount at Breakers’ restaurants (excludes News and Gourmet Coffee Shop and room service) is offered on Oct. 8–11, 2019.

Reservation Information

  • A room reservation link and code will be provided to you once you have registered for the NTDA Convention. Registration and housing open in April 2019.
  • Reservations at The Breakers must be made no later than Sept. 10, 2019.
  • A one-night room deposit (excluding taxes) is required at time of reservation payable via Visa, American Express or MasterCard to The Breakers. All reservations also require a valid credit card and picture identification at time of check in.
  • Rooms reservations are NOT included in your convention and must be made directly through The Breakers via the link provided.
  • If a reservation is cancelled within three days of arrival, the full deposit will be forfeited (non-refundable).
  • If a reservation is reduced in length of the stay within the cancellation period, a $100 penalty fee applies.

What to Wear

  • During the day, business/resort casual sportswear is appropriate attire for our business sessions. This includes khaki slacks, polo-style shirts or sweaters for the gentlemen; slacks, skirts, polo-style shirts, blouses, sundresses or sweaters for the ladies. Remember meeting room temperatures and personal comfort zones vary widely. It is recommended that you bring a sweater or jacket if you tend to get cold during the sessions.
  • No black-tie formal events are scheduled and the NTDA never requires a jacket and tie. Evening attire varies depending upon the function. Check with on-site restaurants or local dining options regarding dress codes.
  • The Wednesday Welcome Reception is planned for the Ocean Lawn, which is a grassy area oceanside, weather permitting. It calls for casual and comfortable clothing. Jackets are not required for the gentlemen. Low-heeled shoes are recommended. Dresses, skirts or slacks are appropriate for the ladies.
  • While planning your wardrobe, please remember that Palm Beach’s average high and low temperatures in early October are 85° high and 72° low.
