Trailer Freight Decreased 0.9% in April

U.S.-NAFTA freight totaled $93.3 billion in April 2015 as all modes but air carried less U.S.-NAFTA freight than in April 2014, according to the TransBorder Freight Data released today by the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) (Figure 1, Table 1). Year-over-year, the value of U.S.-NAFTA freight flows by all modes decreased by 6.8 percent. Large decreases in the value of NAFTA trade by pipeline and vessel in April were due to the reduced unit price of mineral fuel shipments.

EPA, NHTSA Sign “Phase 2” GHG Emissions and Fuel Standards Regulations

Meritor Donates $50,000 to Wyakin Warrior Foundation

Staff Sgt. George Nickel of the U.S. Army Reserve’s 321st Engineer Battalion was in a Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicle with three other soldiers clearing the route to a downed helicopter in central Iraq when they ran over a 500-pound insurgent bomb. Only Nickel survived the February 2007 explosion, and he spent months recovering from traumatic brain injury and eight serious fractures.
