Cooper Tire & Rubber Company has added two new sizes to its Roadmaster RM272 commercial tire line, which is specifically engineered to withstand the demands of drop-deck trailers. The RM272 is now available in sizes 11R22.5 and 295/75R22.5.

Great Dane Service Technician Training Program Receives ASE Accreditation

Great Dane Trailers has received accreditation from the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) for its service technician training program. This is the first time a semi-trailer original equipment manufacturer (OEM) has received ASE accreditation for a technician training program. The ASE accreditation is through the ASE Continuing Automotive Service Education (CASE) program.

OSHA Issues Final Rule Clarifying Injury Records

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration issued a final rule that clarifies an employer’s continuing obligation to make and maintain an accurate record of each recordable injury and illness. The final rule becomes effective Jan. 18, 2017.

Dexter to Acquire IMT’s Axle Divisions

The IMT Group announced that Dexter Axle Company has agreed to acquire IMT’s light-, medium- and heavy-duty axles business. The IMT divisions to be acquired by Dexter consist of the Ingersoll Axles division of IMT Partnership in Ingersoll, Ontario and Indianapolis, IN, and the light-duty Axles division of IMT Standen’s Limited Partnership in Calgary, AB, Canada.

November Trailer Orders Up 71 Percent

New and net trailer orders surged in November, strongly indicating that the trailer buying season has begun. Driven mostly by dry vans, November net orders climbed 71% month-over-month, according to the most recent State of the Industry: U.S. Trailers published by ACT Research Co. (ACT).
